It started out with 2 broke bakers and a driver in the mix, each to their own, bonded by a passion for caking. We met over a mould and the rest is history (who are we kidding – it’s one of THE favourite questions asked at our classes)

On our own, we are, “Edible Art by Sophie” & “The Cake Niche’ ” respectively – Situated in the heart of Durban . 

In 2014, with 20+ years of experience collectively between us, we established Cake Pals KZN . It came with a strong determination to offer cake decorators and bakers (yes, of course there is a difference!) themed, small, unadulterated classes; jam- packed with invaluable information & tricks of the trade. 

So whether you’re starting out in the industry, this is your side-hustle or you’re a discerning chef aiming to take the wedding industry by storm, WE have YOU in mind.
